    • Predicting hip fracture: there and back again
  • 講演概要
    • Predicting the risk of hip fracture is essential for the correct clinical management of osteoporosis patients. We will review the journey from the development of population-based models such as FRAX, developed in Sheffield by Prof Kanis, to the development of the Insigneo CT2S patient-specific modelling technologies, to the most recent developments toward a virtual population, multiscale and stochastic simulator, to be used for intervention optimisation.

  • 講演概要
    • To develop a simple consistent framework for computational anatomy and computational physiology in the Physiome Project, we use the complementary concepts of bond graphs, for lumped parameter systems described by CellML models, and Galerkin finite element methods, for spatially distributed models described by FieldML models. Tissue level structure/function relations are modelled with Functional Tissue Units (FTUs). We are also developing a web portal which displays closely linked data and models at body, organ, tissue and cellular spatial scales using links to the Physiome Model Repository (PMR)
